The Bikery

About

cycling SuperHub

Located on the Ground Floor of the Campus Centre, near the Post Office, The Bikery is a student run bike hub of the Clayton campus that provides students and staff with cheap maintenance, bicycle parts and accessories, refurbished bikes and general cycling advice.

At the Bikery student volunteers can help you with a range of bike related concerns, including flat tyres, bad brakes and pesky magpies. We can also show you the best way to and from campus and where cycling facilities (showers etc.) can be found.

The student volunteers at the Bikery also run periodic maintenance workshops that show people how to fix basic problems with their bikes such as patching a puncture or changing brakes. If you’re interested in one of these just pop into the Bikery and ask one of our volunteers about the next workshop.

If you like the idea of saving money and the environment or you’re just a bit of a bike nerd you can also volunteer at the Bikery. Volunteering at the Bikery will give you the opportunity to learn lots about bikes and to also take part in a grassroots movement that’s actually doing something about a sustainable future. The Bikery also gets involved in bicycle events such as cycling breakfasts, Around the Bay in a day and is a key member of the Monash University Community Bicycle User Group (McBUG), which is a cycling advocacy group sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/monashunibug/ .

So whether you want to learn more about your bike, how to cycle safely or you’d like to help out by volunteering, the Bikery is the place for you. The Bikery is located in room G.55 on the ground floor of the campus centre, Clayton campus (near the Post Office).
