About

A library different to all others

The John Medley Library is designed with only recreation in mind, where you can read a magazine, borrow some light reading, listen to music or watch a DVD. It holds a large collection of material ranging from newspapers, magazines, novels and reference books to CD's, LP's, posters, videos and DVDs in a relaxed, quiet environment perfect for unwinding before and after classes.

JML provides a huge range of books to borrow which includes fiction, science fiction, romance, travel guides, cooking books and many more. We are committed to offering the most recent new releases and up-to-date books for borrowing.

The facilities in the JML and the collection are available for MSA Culture Card members. A valid MSA Culture Card must be presented when borrowing items and upon request. To become a MSA Culture Card member, you can sign up online or visit the MSA Culture Card webpage for more information.

JML offers the cheapest photocopying service on campus - only 5cents for A4, black and white. We also provide colour photocopying and laminating. Those who are not a MSA Culture Card holder can still come in to do photocopying, printing, laminating and hiring DVDs and videos.

The JML's music collection currently includes over 1,100 CD's with more than enough variety to suit all tastes, covering genres such as heavy metal, alternative, jazz/blues, comedy and classical music. New releases are added continuously. The JML also has several thousand LPs, a collection that includes jazz/blues, vintage pop, musicals, comedy, and more. The classical LPs alone amount to approximately 1500 titles.

There's no need to blow your budget on posters to smarten up your home when you can borrow posters from the JML and change the decor of your room as often as you like.

There is also a corner set aside to watch TV/Video and DVD. Six wireless headphones are available. Get together a group of friends, hire a video or DVD and settle down for a restful couple of hours in front of the telly.
